Hot Knife: New Chilli Surfboards Model Now Available

The Hot Knife goes exactly as the name describes: like a hot knife through butter.

Jay Davies and James developed this model with a few things in mind: a combination of the Peri Peri's much-loved bottom contours for smooth transitions and the classic outline from the Stepdown 2 for drive; they also added a hip for release when you need it. James wanted to create an easy to ride, forgiving board for all conditions and he has done just that with the help from one of his biggest team riders.

"This board is always super fast & easy to ride." - Jay Davies

Let's break it down:

- Rocker has an easy entry through the nose into a smooth exit out the tail.

- Bottom contour is from the beloved Peri Peri. A single concave under the chest into a double with a blended vee exiting the tail tip; this creates a super forgiving rail to rail experience. *fin recommendation raked.

- Outline is from the Stepdown 2 with the main feature being a neat hip at the side fin marks. This creates a straighter rail down to the tail for drive. With a slightly wider rounded square tail that tucks in with the hip for control.

- Volume is distributed evenly throughout the board with a medium rail for forgiveness and flow.

Jay Davies is 6'2, weighs 93kgs and rides a stock 5'10 x 19 1/2 x 2 9/16 -31.30L (his A2 shortboard is 6'2 x 19 1/8 x 2 1/2 = 32L). We recommend you select your desired volume or drop 2-3 inches from your current short board to enjoy the Hot Knife at its best!
